About Carol Domanko

I began teaching in 2011 with the intention of sharing the gift of yoga with others.

A regular yoga practice had alleviated my anxiety and lower back problems, and taught me more about myself than 5 years of post-secondary school (I wanted to be a film director when I grew up...)

I did my YTT with Nicki Doane at oranj fitness in Kelowna, BC, "graduating" with a certificate in Maya Yoga. (Maya means "illusion" in Sanskrit.) I then completed another 200 hour Yoga-Alliance recognized training with Pam Rader and Dustin Handley at Shift Power Yoga, in the Baptiste Power Vinyasa style. I have also had the pleasure of working with amazing instructors and yogic philosophers from around the world, like Baron Baptiste, Edward Modestini, Ryan Leir, Leslie Kaminoff, Eoin Finn, Megan Currie, and Maria Garre. Apart from Flow and Power, I also enjoy teaching Yin and Restorative Yoga.

Yoga is the perfect compliment to many athletics, including running, cycling, martial arts, etc. Through body awareness and mental control, athletes from all areas are able to improve their game. Yoga is also essential to the sport of life, giving students coping strategies to deal with stress, anger, depression, and to feel connected with something greater: a place where we are all one.

Whether you are looking to de-stress, increase strength and flexibility, or simply learn more about the art of yoga, it would be my pleasure to share with you what I've learned.

I also have a blog, where I share my thoughts on life and yoga in cyberspace...
